Is it right decision?

Hi Guys, I have started learning python just from a week through various sources like YouTube, materials and Solo learn. It drives me crazy.
I'm 6+ years experienced Mainframe Developer, and I'm planning to switch my profile to Data science especially Python.
Please suggest if this is the right decision at this point of time.
