Is excel using Sql or is Sql a form of excel

Excel and SQL are 2 different things. SQL means "Structured Query Language" and is used to handle data that are stored in a database. For more informations look here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL Excel is a program from Microsoft and is a so called spreadsheet. It’s organized in cells which can contain information like strings or numerical values. Cells can also contain results from operations, functions and so on. Even if you can hold data in an Excel sheet, it is not a database. What Excel can do is to connect to databases, SQL or other types, so that you can see these data in your spreadsheet. Excel can use sql for create queries to different data bases. Depends on data source you can use for example ADO, DAO.
