parsing data ...key:value ....getting segmentation fault

hi friends
here I wrote a code for parsing data

key1:value1;key2:value2;$

from above line it should seggrigate like keys all store in one array
and values all store in another array
so I have taken two 2-dimensional arrays

and declared like

char* key[10];
char* value[10];

if I declare like this I am getting segmentation fault

and
char key[10][10];
char value[10][10];

if I declare like above I am getting correct output

please suggest me solution
