Portfolio or degree

Every programming job I see posted on indeed and linked in require a two or four year degree. Are these companies looking for degrees or skill?

Roach Roach they do see both but more weigtage or importance is given on skill as they required skillful person who can do the job done according to their job description. They want experience some time of 2-4 year so they can easily involve and start working on live projects immediately as many of time they require those who can join immediate. Fresher too have chance on some job profile and do get job according to their skills if they clear the telephonic interview and face to face round.

so skill is must for any company and if the candidates are experience too then they got much attention
