If someone dreams on becoming a coder or software developer yet struggles with it, what would you tell them in order to cheer for them so that way they don't give up?

I'd try to challenge him to study programming 3 hours a day for a week.

that everybody atleast once has failed, but still looked up to their goal and if they tried hard enougth they (nearly) always achieved them.
(If the goals aren't unrealistic...)
