After I complete most of the courses here, where should I continue learning advanced programming?

I am currently in college and have learned Java and C thus far. In my upcoming year I'll be learning web design which doesn't interest me that much. I want to learn data structures and algorithms, and even more advanced stuff if necessary. If you have any suggestions, please share! Also, any new popular programming languages I should learn?

Coding challenges, smaller projects, hands on stuff is the way I'd go. Codewars and similar sites for challenges Codingbat, edabit are also fun and teach you a lot.

I don't know what is your target job, but generally it is useful to know something about how web pages works and are constructed, and SQL for databases.
