Been trying to learn JavaScript on my own I know the basic stuff but when it’s time to do my own code I’m stuck what should I do

learning is gradual and the beginning phase is the hardest but don't give up because once you build something successfully, the joy is very great ~

follow tutorial series on everything.js such as this one : https://code.sololearn.com/WSYhP71671nP/?ref=app After that, you can start to attempt mini project You'll need a theme to start a project to practice. The best way would be to begin with something very easy, such as the My Blog Project Template in HTML course.
