You'll be happier with a 256GB SSD for sure. They're ~10 times as fast and it makes a lot of difference. It should cost about the same as a 512GB HDD. If you're on Windows 10 4GB seems on the very low end. I'd recommend 8GB, maybe as a single RAM stick so you can upgrade to 16 later if you want to without trouble. I don't know what 10k means or what hardware costs where you are at but if I had to cut corners I would probably buy an earlier generation i5; the SSD will make more difference than the CPU will.

4GB is enough only for small projects. Keep in mind, that developers need to keep opened at least browser and IDE. They are the biggest consumers of RAM.

D'Lite but change the ram in personal computers are much more easier than in the laptops / notebooks. I recommend you that if you use pc, then first go and check what do you have inside of the house of it. But you should take Off the electricity cable from the current. So turn off your pc, and remove the power cable before you would go to look your pc inside!

The gamer kunal i recommend to you that use SSD and not HDD. SSDs are much more safety for data storing, as also meanly faster than HDDs and works in silence(!). 😉

The Apollo Guidance Computer had 2kb of RAM. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer What I'm pointing out is that you will be able to program on virtually *any* computer which works - It's just a matter of how fast it gets the job done. I've ran IDEs on netbooks which are placed far below the listed minimum requirements of those programs. You stated that you are a beginner - To learn programming, the specs you listed are more than enough. The problem is, there might be a wider array of requirements compared to the only one listed here. Will you also be using it for some gaming, video-streaming, graphic designing? Is it possible for you to become interested in other OSes, and wish to run VMs on your computer? To be future-proof, Schindlabua 's advice would be just fine.

D'Lite by the way, when you would buy your new Ram, then i recommend to you that you look the amount of the wished Ram in kits. Like if you want to buy 8GB Ram, then look it in kit - what means 2 * 4GB Ram stick, which okay would use 2 slot of your pc, but the Rams like to works more in pair (so in kit) instead of like if you'll buy one stick with 8GB Ram. 😉

D'Lite yes why not! Of course you can change / upgrade the Ram in your pc / or laptop. The point is that you have to check the clock time (MHz) and the size of the place of the Ram (so that place of you'll put the ram in), and the number of the slots (so look how much mount do you have where you'll be able to change or put plus ram into your motherboard). The number of the memory slots are mostly 4 / 3 /2 pcs for PC and 2/4 pcs for notebooks/laptops, but may you can find more on some gamer motherboard.

D'Lite Yep. It's about the size of a snickers bar and you can just rip it out of your PC and slot in a new one. If you plan on using multiple RAM sticks you should use the same kind though. Older motherboards also might not be able to cope with the newest kinds of RAM.

The amount of RAM you need seriously depends on what kind of programming you wish to do. If you are planning on doing game dev, 4Gb might not even get any major game engine to boot up. But if you are working on Frontend web development, 4GB will work. For .net programming, 4GB would be quite less as Visual Studio sucks up a lot of RAM by itself. For running scripts of common languages such as C,C++, Java, JavaScript, python, sql etc. 4GB will get the work done. But keep in mind that although 4GB may work for the kind of programming you wish to do, it is not future proof. Eventually the size and scope of your projects would increase and you will have a need to breach the 4GB RAM barrier. So if you wish to do programming for a long run (a couple years at least), go for at least 8 GB. And for others, I believe that by 11K , he is referring to 11K Rupees (Based on the assumption that his name is Indian and he is requesting Flipkart links.)

Schindlabua Reading your answer, does it mean I can change/upgrade the RAM of my PC. Like, is RAM some removable component ?

Not. If you wanna make games or something like that its at least 8 or 16 gb. But if you wanna make some basic stuff its enough.
