I'm having a problem with the code::block software, no matter what I type in the cout, the result I get is always 'hello world'

Did you press "Build and run" or just "run"?

You also need a compiler to run, download the editor + compiler version,
and everytime hit build and run

☺ Never mind now, I've got it sorted. Discovered that I had to save first before hitting the build and run command.
