Both Java and Kotlin can be used to develop Android apps. Choosing either Kotlin or Java to start off your learning journey will provide you with a foundation which enables you to easily pick up other languages, so it really doesn't matter. You can also use the search bar to look at the discussions which have taken place regarding the comparison of these two languages. https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/1103281/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/823823/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/396865/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/1052430/?ref=app

Kotlin is my favorite language and I dislike Java. I'm slowly learning Android with Kotlin. However, at this time, you will find Java an easier path because most examples are in Java.

D_Stark I was coding classes prior to having them available in C with Classes (aka C++). C++ and Kotlin both fit beautifully with my class usage. I constantly found myself fighting Java's classes.

On Sololearn, the Java tutorial is more standard and established than the Kotlin tutorial.
