What is your fav/best text editor?

I'm currently learning html and ruby, was wondering which one would be best to start with and get comfortable with? ! thanks

Notepad ++.
I'm not an HTML or Ruby learner, so I don't know if my answer helpful.
When I'm learning C, Notepad++ is an excellent text editor for me. It shows the code similar to other common IDE, also provide faster speed and rich format support.(Code block is a little bit slow :( ) I just like fast and open source softwares. XD
