It depends on if the usage qualifies as Fair Use.
Quote from the article link below:
"According to law, it is not illegal to use a movie screenshot without getting permission from its owner, but with certain limitations. You are allowed use them for a variety of purposes, such as teaching, news reporting, criticism, commentary, scholarship, library archiving, parody, etc."

I would review these linked articles and do additional research to understand this better.

I hope this helps clarify things.

Still image from a movie is still under copyrighted.

Changing up stuff a but won't make it yours. Technically, if you still clearly see where it comes from, there may be a problem.
And if you don't recognize it anymore, why would you use it in the first place? Obviously you *want* to recognize it as the work of another person.
So... problematic.

Yeah, Sonic, in Germany there's a saying that goes something like:
'When there's no plaintiff, there's no judge.'
Technically you might still break a law, and you should be aware of that.

Komal Negi Fair Use might be specific to this USA. Some countries recognize Fair Dealing as an alternative.
Assuming you are in India, this might help.

yeah it also comes under copyright infringement but editing the pic in your own way like adding text to it or using some fiter overlay makes it worth to use
