how to make a note program for my movies ?

My dad always buys a cd of a common movie, but it's not rare when he buy the same movies over and over again. Can anyone give me some clues how to make him android simple app so that everytime he buys a movie, he can check to his smartphone if he already has that movie or not. He even bought fast and furious 7 until 3 times.I will appreciate any advice.
