ima be a meanie: if you still can't program your own code, then yes you should most likely give up. eight years is too long, and you could have spent that time learning something you could do more easily. however, if you can program your own code without a guide, I don't think you should give up, at least not fully.

The more correct question you should ask yourself is: Are you able to program something useful properly and fluently (easily)?

Ask yourself what can you do/ what you can't. Which have longer answer go with that.

that's a simple question to answer. should you give up? well, answer this question and apply the answer to your question. do you want to be able to program? if it was easy, everyone would do it

How about watching a video from Shia LaBeouf's motivational speech... Technically, learning everything depends on your end goals... Do you have an end goal?? Like being able to hack, making own custom websites or making games... If none then, you can quit... But as for many people who are pursuing they have an end goal which they will achieve as long as they don't give up... I gotta say though... If you can't program then you can find something different that suits you... And if you would ever want to learn something, make sure you have an end goal in order to fully achieve it... The next steps are up to you my friend... Be wise
