What's the learning objective here?

In contrast to the carefully constructed questions from earlier lesson modules, I find many of the questions have become "gotcha!" type quizzes.

Yes there are quite a few trick questions.

I agree Scotty Cameron . Python is supposed to be about clean logic and readability, yet a lot of quizzes and challenges are set up to mislead. I suppose an argument could be made that this format helps you identify faults or flaws within code, teaches you to pay attention to syntax, but I find it distracts from the learning process.
