Quick question from a beginner

I find myself going on SoloLearn and learning something new and maybe even a few minutes later I forget, even after playing around with it in a sandbox...

Hey, Theodore206 ! What I do to retain my knowledge is pretty simple! I suggest creating a Google Doc or something similar, and when you learn something new, write the term, definition, and usages. It really helps me. Write a few codes by hand involving all you have learned. Maybe you will not remember it all, but slowly, you will learn everything! The best way to learn coding is to do it! By the way, Manogya Singh, not cool for copying my post... Thanks, have a great night and good luck with your programming!

It is true that practice makes perfect, but I think it is also very useful to combine different forms of learning to stimulate your memory from different angles and to enjoy learning more. You can watch some tutorials on Youtube or read them online. Some interesting book would be helpful as well. It is also fun to try challenges here on Sololearn.

I agree with Brock Miller. You aren't always going to remember what you just learned forever. It takes time and practice. Eventually, you'll be able to whip up a website without even having to think about which tags you have to use.
