How do you know when and in what programming language to specialize in?

Personally, I think you will get burnt out of programming, if you don't love the language you use. The projects and jobs aren't worth hating your life. It is likely you can find a language you love and jobs that use it. Some jobs won't be possible, but you will be happy and working.
