Well AI and machine learning are definitely on the rise now as these are relatively new programming directions, but I'm pretty sure web developing is not going to go anywhere and is going to remain the important part of programming. So I don't think any of those 2 variants is better in future, and your choice as always should be based on what's more interesting for you personally.

Isn't AI already be integrated with web development? how your search engine and social medias show (what they say "related") ads for example, doesn't it mean they are reading some pattern and learn from it?

And although I'm not all that sure, I think I saw here somewhere before, someone said that ML is a part of AI, IIRC it's a part that studies ways on how to allow machines to "learn" on their own.

It appears AI or ML has higher level of math skills requirement than web development, so those who are not really good in maths *probably* will prefer web development.
