Can we create new courses?
Would it be possible to help create questions for new courses like nodejs etc?

Lesson factory is currently closed. SL will keep us updated if any changes to this are being planned.

Only when Sololearn gives the green light.

Hendrik Jacobus Pretorius I would suggest just writing your own code with the course information and quizzes then sharing it with the community. Instead of trying to recreate the entire app.

As it currently stands, the Lesson Factory has been removed, so you can't create any new lesson
As for quizzes, the only languages open to quiz creations are
*Swift
*C
Our best bet is to hope they bring back the lesson factory

SL falls under the category of things many try to imitate, but cannot duplicate. Be careful not to choke on your aspirations. ;>

shouldn't we then just rewrite the app under a different name and give the community control over features?

Writing your own app won't be a bad idea, but as far as I know Sololearn ain't open source

maybe if we make a git with like "community suggestions" and then drop an open source clone there then they might copy from there

That's why I use the word "we" instead of "me".

A Lua tutorial would help.
