IDLE on Chromebook

Hi, I am considering buying a Chromebook, and I found out that in most cases it is possible to “install” linux on a Chromebook, and then Python with IDLE. Is there anyone who has some experience with this, and can tell me if it works properly?

Danny Mientjes In my opinion, Mac is much better option but the only thing I don't like about it is it's high price. I think, I have got just the right link for you👇 https://www.businessinsider.com/should-you-buy-a-macbook-or-chromebook-2012-6

I think it also depends a lot on how powerful the chromebook is and what you are up to. Screen size is also not unimportant in my opinion. How to install: https://youtu.be/pPHW3ax7Ojc Which IDE can you install and bit about performance: https://dev.to/jmfayard/coding-on-a-chromebook-4pmp

Thanks Blackwinter, Arsenic an Denise, for your attempt to help.😄 But, what is your thought on this? Do you think it's an good idea to buy a chromebook? Or rather buy a Mac?
