Not all certificates are accredetied/recognized by companies. You'll have to search yourself to find the ones that actually add a value to your resume.

It's not about these days or old days, it's more of how to prove you got what it takes to make a job. I'm pretty confident that most people will prefer someone who has done great projects, than someone who has a certificate.

Projects are the best way to prove how good you are, and how well you can write. If you already made few of them, or even just a single big project, then you don't need to worry about certificates much.

However, if you only have few scripts with few hundreds of lines, then getting an accredetied certificate would definitely matter.

If you're talking about a Sololearn certificate, they're practically useful in the case you're trying to get a job. If you're talking about, say, certificates that colleges give you, they may come in handy when you're trying to get a job.

No it's not as if you are a Business Man/Woman then no one is going to ask for your qualifications as you have already proven your skills.
