Programming hardware using python

Question

Suppose for example, i wanna connect my ac remote to my pc and give it command via python programming, so is it possible with the default course provided in the learn section of sololearn or i have to get another course?

Okay, so by this i understood 3 points, one i need to get some raspberry Pi interfaces tested, need to opt for a good python course elsewhere like on udemy or something, and a normal pc won't support gpio, so what types of pc would support this gpio? Some new high end devices or something else?
