Number of reasons: you can create excellent videos games, no - movies, no - VR using Unity or Unreal Engine. It is a very flexible language with wonderful syntax. It doesn't cost anything to call it *true* OOP. And due historical reasons too: a marvelous improvement of the language C.
In short: you can create anything and be the winner!
