I actually don't know mechatronics (even the name looks cool!)
To know if only knowing Python is enough, I'm afraid you will get the answer by yourself. You need to know if in your domain Python is useful or if some more languages are requested.
One thing I'm absolutely sure about is that, more you learn different languages, more doors you will open to yourself.
And when I talk about doors, I don't only mean "jobs opportunities", I also mean "more ninja you will be".
In the life of programmer you will stuck on problems everyday. Sometimes you will find out that solve one problem with Python is the most appropriate but if you know Java, C++, etc. you will get the possibility to say "All right this problem I could fix it with Python but Python is not the best solution, I will use Java". And then you can mix languages together to use the best of each one.
So if you don't try to learn different languages, you limit your possibilities to make yourself more easy.
