Dot in between what?

Vasudha Shweta you use the dot in SQL to reduce the ambiguity when your resultant is a combination of two tables.
For example if you have two tables both having an ID column then if you write a query mentioning just the column name then you are not sure that which ID is returned in your result.
Hope it will make sense now.
