What type of editor is use to edit html code

Since Html is just a markup language you can even edit html code in a normal txt file. If you want something that is still simple to use and looks cleaner and provides syntax highlighting, i suggest to use something like sublime text.

What about using notepad

You should be able to use that as long as you save it as a .html file. But i recommend using a simple text editor like sublime or brackets.

Notepad isnt meant to be used for editing html code and probably only highlights the words that are not spelled correctly. If you really dont want to install an editor, use a regular txt file.
