It's as easy/as difficult as in any other major & mature programming language. The more in-depth knowledge the easier it is. But if I was serious about my (complicated) Android app I'd do it only with Android native tools i.e. Android studio and Kotlin/Java. Google officially announced their preferred language for apps is Kotlin. Therefore I'd rather invest my time into learning Kotlin/Java what opens many more market opportunities outside Android apps than into learning "Python/Android" conversion tools. Unless you strictly focus on Python - what's also an option. I flipped through some Kotlin and Java books (not knowing either of them) and found Kotlin looking less encumbered with C legacy syntax, but that's just a superficial impression. I found Android Studio very handy and will certainly use it to inspect Kotlin more in depth. Major disadvantage of Kotlin vs. Python is a much much smaller community.

Easy to learn GPPL with lots of libraries including Pygame but not supported by Google for their Android platform. Tons of information and discussions available on the Net.
