How do one get started on a project?

I just started learning python and data science and I wish to know why what point one can start getting involved in projects or even start a project on his/her own.
How do I go about all that?

A project can be basically everything, from a small, text-based program to a full-fledged application with GUI and all... or a game...

I think projects find you more than you find them. Just ask yourself what sort of program you'd like to try.

And when you kind of feel you see a way there, go for it.

As beginner, it's also totally okay to just study and play around a bit, getting acquainted with all of this.
