C string length without using strlen()

Question

int main()
{
char s[10];
int i;
printf("Enter a string: ");
scanf("%s", s);
for(i = 0; s[i] != '\0'; ++i);
printf("Length of string: %d", i);

return 0;
}

If i/p: “ i a m”
I want o/p: 6
How can i modify it

The issue your having is with the scanf...If you really need to use it try this (Honfu posted this method a few months back).:-

#include <stdio.h>
int main(){

char s[10];

printf("Enter a string: ");
scanf("%[^\n]s", s);

int i = 0;
while(s[i])
i++;

printf("Length of string: %d", i);

return 0;
}

Create an int counter, in for loop increase it by 1. After for loop is complete add 1 again for null terminator.
