What are the best programming languages for a Bioinformatician?

Hai all.I would like to know what all progamming languges i have to prefer to become an outstanding bioinformatician.I am from science back ground presently persuing Msc.Biotechnology,Everyone says to learn phython.Is it real..else i should choose some other language.
