Looking to get into Cyber Security, unsure where to start

Thanks ahead of time for any assistance. I'm just starting a degree in cyber security and am wondering what I should do to prepare, or educate myself on further. I am very new to programming so I'm not too sure on where to start. Thanks!

— Cryptography is important, you need to know the workings and formulars as to how secure an encryption algorithm is. — Mathematics are important as well, close gaps. — Logic Gates I suppose can't hurt. — Attack methods and basically how networks work should be already in your vocabulary I assume. —Since there's little context information to be extracted from this question, I can only try to cover most of the issues: –Learn (at least the basics) C++/ C and Python as well as Web development (php, sql, HTML, Css, js...). Again there's just not enough information for me to form a decisive answer so I tried to cover most of the languages. /*Personally I highly recommend starting with C. You will thank yourself later.*/ —Lastly learn an ASSEMBLY language. And write ASM code. And more ASM Code. And more ASM code. Cyber Security is such a gigantic field, its like asking what a student trying to become a historian should prepare for. You just can't, there are so many epoch and eras and incidents.
