How do I compile on terminal?

I've been using the the solo learn java app and can't understand what to do because the tutorials are for window users, can someone help me please!?!?

I work with Notepad++ or UltraEdit but not for Java ;) Eclipse here...

I never worked with sublime. Don't want to tell rumours ^^

Eclipse works on mac too, I used to use it on mine. I use IntelliJ IDEA now though on mine. The commands are almost the same via the terminal as they are on cmd. Use cd to change directories and ls instead of dir. The java specific commands are the same.
