matrix of flipping cards

Question

Dear all, I'm very new here. I would like to make a very simple game:

a matrix of cards (say 5X3)
each card can be flipped, i.e. show the back side when selected (back and front are just images)

I would like to incorporate it on my website, hence i was thinking of just HTML (+ CSS)

any suggestion? where could I start from?

or is it a bad idea to start with?

i guess it's just like a memory game without the "memory" component...
