Skiptos after finishing html course I'd expect any newcomer to feel disjointed.
The course is a bit outdated - the way SL "patches" up their courses is by adding sections at the end of the them - which sometimes feels like running in circles thematically.
Web development as a whole is huge atm, there's javascript libraries, css preprocessors, plenty of front end frameworks, css snippets and helper codes, it's easy to get lost with the abundance of information.
I suggest doing something slightly more interactive - the Codecademy.com courses actually make you type stuff out instead of reading incoherent walls of text accompanied with meaningless quiz-like questions.
W3schools is also a very good source and you'll definitely feel like you've taken something away from it.
Last but not least - coding is like playing guitar. You won't become good at it by reading how to pick your strings, you'll eventually become good or at least comfortable once you start playing / coding.

You have to belive yourself that you can do anything you want..... Passion is important when you learn something....
And of course you should start writing codes... while learning a programming language....
One can master a language by conversation... similarly a programming language can be mastered by writing codes... anything you want

The point is to write programs. Only doing that, you'll learn anything.
Of course you have to learn about the language. But just reading the tutorial is not enough.
