-BASIC if you just want to learn the fundamentals then move to another language.
-Python if you want something beginner friendly and useful.
-Java if you want to develop apps for phones.
-C++ if you want to go into game development.
-C if you want to learn a language with lot of (bittersweet) freedom that changed the world and go to OS development.
-MATLAB if you are an engineer and you need simulations.
-VHDL and Assembly if you want to know how computers work.

I suggest Python 3 because of its complexity and its beginner-friendly.
