Why is visual basic becoming very unpopular?

because copyright from the big big company, pay to writing code. before community edition release that super s*c* then look at delphi the same problem pay for use ,unpopular to. after that look at java super simple free, php free forever. all about paying for learning and using that app.

Visual Basic can't become unpopular because it never has been popular. Always Java, C and C++ liderate the rankings (check TIOBE index). That said, Visual Basic is bad because it's too verbose, case-insensitive and has obsolete flow syntax (like GOTO). Also, new languages are coming, like Go (from Google company), which is also free and better than C++ and Java (mainly on concurrency); oh, and with it you can do webapps, desktop software, mobile apps, etc.
