Python not being recognised by CMD after installing Thonny

Question

I installed Thonny, it's awesome. It's got all the modules I want and it runs super fast. A concern I have is that Python hasn't been installed globally. It says on the website that it comes automatically on installed when you download Thonny (which is what drew me in). Although Python works in Thonny, typing "py", or "python" in CMD won't run anything. Is this a glitch?

~ swim ~ I have no idea how to do that. I tried with Java and it went horribly wrong.
