assume thst the output screen is on the left side of your main screen while you are typing code << means you send something to that screen >> means you take something from it... this is the way I remember it...but its only hypothetical and unreal...just to remember...there is nothing like this concept..hope it helps

some people misunderstand it, << and >> wasn't particularly made for i/o. it was just overloaded for it.
