U go to shop and try.
For books it is the same.
I usually read some chapter on amazon.
So finally my preferred books are O'Reilly and Manning.

Books are not cheap
First I borrow them from the library via interlibrary loan.
Takes me 2 € but prevents me from wrong investments.
