Definetly C++. It is a great first language. It's the first language I'm learning because of its complexity. Many languages do different things, so try and understand what you want out of programming. After you do that, search for a language which will help you accomplish what you want. Then use that language and do what you wanted to do. Make yourself feel fufilled at the least. Learning some "easy" language could take away from your potential learning time. Play around with multiple languages, and check which one you fancy.

It really depends on what you'll be working on. c++ is great, it renders faster code compared to python but if your a beginner python or ruby will be a bit easier to pick up. I personally don't care for Java. outside of machine learning using JVM's, it's becoming more and more obsolete. Like I said, it depends on what you want to jump into. machine learning, I'd recommend java. multithreaded apps, c++. server-side scripting, python is great.
