It's very much normal, but it depends on what kind of long. If the code is long because the code itself is terrible, repetitive etc. then no, that's not good.
But, if the code is of good quality and not repetitive, then it's very much alright

Yea , it's normal to have long code in beginning when you will master in HTML CSS JS then you can create small codes of big problem by using knowledge.
It's all depends on your skills.
