I apologize if this is still TL;DR after editing. Technicians (from programmers to database admins) who understand cyber defense--or can be convinced to care--have been in short supply. I've had heated exchanges with admins whose security definitions rely mostly on what the news tells you to do...or see security as 'blocking' normal processes. And because we're never taught to do it right, people rely on mass-protection formulas that don't cover quite as well as they may think...when security's every developer's responsibility. Microsoft put serious money into re-educating their developers (despite the Technet alerts, it is better) and I've been concerned that education isn't here. Though I agree that this is not SoloLearn's focus at this time, I respectfully submit basic defensive programming has a place here.
