Python, as you're mostly going to write scripts that automate tasks for you.
Only aliens can write shell scripts, I'm sure everyone who claims otherwise are undercover agents from another screen.
Oh, and I hope you're running a sufficiently cool Linux distro. All hackers can arrange a perfectly aesthetic console setup with neofetch, htop and other cli programs.
While playing around in Linux, you might instead decide, instead of some poor guy's russian email, to hack around insides of open-source window managers, distros or even the kernel itself to improve them.
