Kry$tof you are correct but as far as my knowledge go, SDL uses C/C++ for development.

And victor bamidele is asking for something to go with C# so that's what I recommend unity.

Otherwise I agree with you there are a ton of other game engine also which are much better and powerful than unity.

Arsenic that's not true. There are lot of engines available not only Unity. Also you can make own engine. SDL 2 Is great option
