Git Bash good for Windows 8.1 user?

Hi Im a newbie learning about Git and in most tutorials and videos I saw ppl using different console that is not cmd.exe which also start with a $ symbol.
Will I miss something important if i dont use a Mac or Linux console? Is Git Bash the way to go?🤔

PS: My laptop is old but younger that Mama Coco

You can install cygwin to have similar linux interfaces and install git for windows desktop.

Mint is just a popular kind of linux now. Its worth looking into if you already want to get into bash

Ty. Ill check cygwin later on and Linux probably next year, my laptop sucks.
