for the path lesson why are some of the words are Witten differently

another word for path is direction. each character
has a definition next to it explaining what it does. rather than write out the whole word, only the first letter is used. it is like a short cut. M tells html that we want to start drawing for example. the d atribute stands for data. hope this answer you question
