Do people who code need knowing how things work inside a computer? Not the software oriented IT, but those of us who study CSE.

All the stuff from how the freaking hell computer stores information and how can electric circuits perform calculations O_o ... Is it a part of Computer Engineering curriculum?

one can be a programmer without knowing much about computer internals BUT to be a good programmer you need to know how computer works internally and stuff.

You wouldn't trust a docter who doesn't know rhe basics of how the human body Works to operate on you. You wont alow a mechanic who doesn't know how a motor vehicle work, to repair your car. the same goes for computer engineering. That said, you don't need to know everything about everything. Similar to how there are specialists in the medical and automotive industries, that knows a specific part or system within the whole very deeply. In the IT industry there are also specialists whom one can consult. But you do need to know the basics, you do need to know a little about everything.
