What is your idea/wishlist feature to make Sololearn better?

Sololearn is one of the best programming course to learn out there. Its community makes sololearn the easiest and funniest way to learn code. I remembered when I started using sololearn in 2015 and there were only several courses with no challenge, they made an application for each course. But now we have code playground, challenge, and rank system in one application to rule all. Seeing sololearn growth make me think "what else we need to make sololearn better?". Here is my wish list features that I think will makes Sololearn the best: 1. Course: - Add more course like: Go, R, Shell, VB, etc - Ability for user to improve the courses, like a proposal to add courses, or proposal to edit some part of the courses. This will be moderated by Sololearn staff or consortium of specific user/moderators 2. Challenge: - Mark a published quiz as "need review", I don't know how the other user but sometimes I see a "wrong answer" as the "true answer", and sometimes there are a mistake on the question. Then when a quiz is marked as "need review", sololearn team or group of verified contributor can review this. - Challenge on web/PC. I am a bit unsure about this because when we make challenge on PC, user may cheat by changing tab or use multi monitor. But if sololearn can detect it , that would be awesome. 3. Experience Calculatin Information -I saw there are some user asking about how the experience are calculated when we are lost from a smaller level user, they lost so much exp. While they won, they just get a small exp. So I think there should be a experince calculation information. @Leighton DeGoede also suggested that this information include how exp are calculated not only for Challenge but also when user gain a badge, completing courses, etc. 4. Quiz Factory: - A clear instruction to make "fill the blank" question, or maybe we need different approach because some user still can't get the "mark as blank" after tapping the words. --more on my comment--

How about an SQL weapon? It would be the best way to get Sololearners to have a better command: of the SQL commands!

4. Quiz Factory (continued): - Maybe we need some bot to help review the quiz submissions, bot can calculate and predict the answer more accurate than human. 5. User and Community: - Currently we have a Q&A Discussion with the comment/answer, the answer is displayed by how much upvote its had. It's a good system if we want to hold a problem and how to solve it discussion type, so the good answer goes to top and the bad/wrong answer goes down. But this method is not good for a forum like discussions, when we need to have a threaded discussion so we can see how the discussion going from start to the end. Thus, I suggest sololearn to make a Forum discussion with a different approach from the Q&A discussions. So in the end, when user have a problem and want a help from another user, they can use Q&A. When users need to discuss something else (like this one), they can use the forum instead. - Chatting feature, so user can make interaction with people they follow, their followers, user who challenge us, or a group chat. User also have ability to control who can make chat with them. 6. Quest system : Basically, I just inspired by codewar like, so there are missions that users must accomplish to get more exp like to writing a code to solve the problem. Each mission has a level and different reward when the user solves it (based on mission level). The user or group of users can collaborate to make a quest proposal and then sololearn team choose which mission/quest is qualified to be published. 7. Group or Clan - User can make a group/clan so they can have their own discussion board, they can publish a code as a group, or they can make a quiz or quest (number 5 above) as a group. They can collaborate when using the code playground. 8. Remove/increase the characters limitation on disscussions. I think that was what ideas that I have for now. If you have more ideas to improve Sololearn, please make a comment and upvote this so Sololearn team can hear our ideas.

Great post, am I the only one against a chatting feature stopped using other social media app cause of that. But for SoloLearn private messaging options could be added so that you could ask your question to that person but not chatting. Don't mind me friends it's just my opinion. For scoring system losing point can be reduced to 10-20.

These are great suggestions... I suggest having a code of the day badge and the answer/question of the day. However before adding these features they need to fix the CODE PLAYGROUND and the SCORING SYSTEM

Dadang NH, this is great! Thanks for putting this wishlist together. You've already incorporated my request from my post, so I'm satisfied for now. If I have more ideas, I will let you know, and you can add them to your list (for greatest visibility and clarity of this thread).

I agree with all your suggestions. My suggestions: 1) Practice Mode for challenges. 2) Course wise achievements/badges should be shown in this app. We should know what badges we have in a course and what we don't.

I wanna to look input System improved, the current input System ignores our written message/prompts to see which never let us to know what is to be inputted by user? So I wanna to change it and also scoring system of Challanges killing me. because it give only a XP if I win but if I lose then it takes -32xp which is accessible on all day. it is very unfair for me.

to add on the wonderful points by dear members 1. I would like to see answer option at every of challenge questions that would choke out the mistake which would not be repeated. 2 .i think many questions are repeated in challenges so efforts should be made them to repeat as less as possible. 3. I think the coding console given should be made more user friendly. 4.I would like to see more of concept application exercise at the courses rather than concept learning ones.

Sachin Artani, I disagree. Yes, it is really tough to lose so much XP when you lose a match and gain so little XP when you win, but this is actually only if you are a high level player challenging a low level player. The reverse is also true, a low level player doesn't lose so much XP to a high level player when they lose. Thus, the new algorithm is actually much better at distributing experience most evenly among challengers. It makes it easier for low level players to rise up, and harder for high level players to maintain their supremacy. TL;DR: Yes, it might seem tough, but it is a better, more fair algorithm.

More programming languages and frameworks (AngularJS, Node, higher level of SQL course) . It would be also great if you could add courses for mobile platforms. I'm really approciate for the best interactive courses online!

Dadang NH, could you actually take your request for "clear information about how experience is calculated" out of the challenge section (#2) and make it a separate section? I think we could benefit from information on ALL the ways that experience can be gained or lost. For example, creating codes, completing courses, getting upvotes on questions, answers and comments, etc. Update: thanks!

@Leighton DeGoede : Thank you very much for your contribution to this wish list :) I'll make the list up to date with the ideas from comment. @Ahmad Saeful Yes, more addictive and fun to learn code will make most people enjoy the learning curve. @Agus Mei Thank you for your support, semoga dengan berkembangnya sololearn, semakin banyak coder khusunya dari Indonesia bisa mendapatkan manfaat (eng: hopefully with the good sololearn development, it will attract more people to learn code, especially people from Indonesia). Anyway, I updated the list so I think you need to adjust your comment. Thank you

1. More languages should be added. Android is very important at this age, I think it would be a good idea to add up a course on XML and android development. 2. bookmarks, there should be tags for bookmarks on the pages of the course content. this will make it easy easier to access vital info.

I would like if sololearn have a collaborative tools to make a code, I am agree with the group/party/clan system which with that we can do something together. I also think that having a regional language support is a thing. we can submit our translation so it'll be open translation.

From opinion the quiz in java, java script shouldn't be just about math .It should be question related to more specific important question. 1. I think math question challenges is doing nothing to our knowledge. 2. There should be a tool to have coding challenge like create custom thread etc (which is a part of java). rather than prog quiz it doesn't test us in .
