How am I supposed to leave a column while inserting mysql data?

I made a table and I want to skip entering data in one feild. How to do that?

Insert into <table name> (column names ) values (values name);

specify column names in parentheses after table name in insert query. INSERT INTO tbl_name (col1,col2) VALUES(val1,val2); https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/insert.html

It would also be nice if you add a default constraint for the column you want to skip on insertion; so system can give the column a default value when explicit value was not supplied on insert.
