For python i personally prefer pycharm because it is the most helpful app in my opinion. But for other languages i would definitely use Visual Studio Code.

For PC, you can use language specific IDEs as they are optimised and are feature rich for a particular language. VS code is versatile. For Mac, Xcode is a greatly optimized tool. But, for smartphone/tablets, online coding is the best option imo.
